ALEXANDER III MEMORIAL

This memorial which can be seen from the KIngswood Hotel  commemorates Alexander III who fell from his horse and died in 1286. His death changed the course of history for Scotland.

BURNTISLAND PARISH CHURCH

The oldest post reformation church in Scotland still in use.  It was built in 1595.  The interior of the Church is very special and it is well worth a visit.

MUSEUM OF COMMUNICATION BURNTISLAND
Open April-October

The Museum has a major collection — over 40 tonnes — of artifacts covering electrostatics, telegraphy, telephony, audio, radio, television and video and IT,  as well as some early experimental radar, satellite, photographic and printing equipment plus a technical library of scientific literature and related documentation  01592 874836.

BEACON LEISURE CENTRE

The Beacon Leisure Centre Burntisland Fife Scotland

Opened in 1997, the swimming pool has flumes waves, fitness facilities, health suite and complimentary health clinic.  Treat yourself to a swim, sunbed or sauna. 01592 583383.

PETTYCUR & BURNTISLAND BEACHES
(Both 2012 Blue Flag Beaches)

Stretching from Burntisland to Kinghorn and can be viewed from the hotel, this beach has magnificent silver sands, a beautiful walk when the tide is out.

The Highland Games are held on the third Monday in July and date back to 1654.  The fair is on the links for approximately 8 weeks over the summer period.

FIFE COASTAL PATH

The Fife Coastal Path between Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy

The Kingswood Hotel is situated on The Fife Coastal Path which runs from the Forth Estuary in the south, to the Tay Estuary in the north and stretches for 117 miles.

KINGHORN RNLI

Volunteers are always happy to show you around the Lifeboat Station, particularly interesting during Sunday Morning Training Sessions.

THE BINN

The Binn Hill rises 191 metres over Burntisland. The climb is perhaps not for the faint hearted but the views across the town over the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh and to the iconic bridges are spectacular.

KINGHORN BEACH

Another beautiful sheltered sandy beach very popular in the summer for families.

SILVER SANDS – ABERDOUR
(5-10 minutes)

As the name suggests, this beach has lovely silver sands and has been given awards for its cleanliness.
